Gemini Spark: Local file access and organization
Gemini Spark is Google's agentic AI assistant, now extended into the Gemini app for macOS. Rather than just answering questions, Spark takes a stated goal, plans the steps, and executes multi-step tasks directly on your desktop, connected folders, and Google Workspace apps.
On Mac, Spark can sort a messy Downloads folder, pull figures from local invoices into a budgeting spreadsheet, and keep it updated on a schedule. It connects to Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable, Zillow Rentals, Google Tasks, Keep, and custom MCP servers, and can track real-time updates on news, finance, and sports. Users control exactly which folders Spark can access at any time.
