Plask is a browser-based motion capture and animation platform that converts video clips into 3D character animation assets. Targeted at animators, visual effects artists, and game developers, the application uses machine learning algorithms to extract human movement from uploaded video files without requiring suit hardware or sensor setups. Users can record performance video directly, process the footage in the cloud, and edit extracted keyframes using an integrated web editor before exporting to software like Blender, Unreal Engine, or Maya. The tool captures subtle body motion and gestures, helping artists create skeletal animation data for digital avatars and non-player characters efficiently. By automating keyframing from video references, the platform decreases the manual labor typically associated with character animation. Although real-time motion capture stream output is currently unsupported, the file-based processing pipeline offers an accessible alternative for studio pre-visualization and indie production pipelines.
